It’s very difficult to look for a home for your loved one and make decisions for them.
While looking I found Rococo Health Services, I knew the day I visited Rococo I wanted my mother to live there. Belkis and staff were so kind and took time to answer questions I had.
The day we moved her in I spent most of the day there, and as I was leaving Belkis took my hand and said “Do not worry, we will take good care of her, we are family now”
My mother lived there for 15 months. I visited almost daily and witnessed the care and compassion the staff had for all of the residents. I found that I was able to rest easier at home knowing she was being cared for.
Belkis made a point to communicate and would recommend when next steps of care were needed.
When my mother passed away they had so much respect for us and our family. They made this awful experience of losing your loved one peaceful and with dignity.
I became friends with the staff, residents and their families. I continue to go back and visit and pay respect to all of them.

Mom came to Rococo Healthcare in February of 2023 after spending two weeks at a psychiatric hospital being officially diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Mom, also affectionately called Baba by our family, was Bell and Phillip’s first resident which was a gift both to Mom and to our family. I say it was a gift because Mom was disoriented from her hospital stay, her new surroundings, and of course Alzheimer’s which had recently taken a stronger grip of her. Bell gave Mom exactly what she needed which was loving attention and reassurance especially the first night Mom spent with her. For any family member leaving their cherished parent in the hands of someone who was a stranger at that time, I felt at ease with Bell and how she cared for Mom.
From that day forward, Bell was very responsive to our texts and communicative when she felt Mom needed something. What strikes me when I look back at that time was how Bell stayed in communication with texts and reassuring photos. She understood how difficult the transition was not only for Mom but for her family. Since that day, she continued to stay in touch consistently and was not only patient with Mom but all of us in the family learning to adjust to the new normal.
When family would bring Mom back to the house after an outing, Mom would be confused about whose house it was and why she was there. Although she would not have the memory to know people’s names, when the door was opened and she was greeted by Rococo staff, she responded with a sense of familiarity. Mom had made emotional connections with staff especially Bell. There is an honesty and pureness of heart to the environment of the house.
Baba lived at Rococo for almost two and a half years before she passed away in June from the complications of Alzheimer’s. Bell and Phillip provided a safe and loving home to her for which our family will be forever grateful. For families looking for a home to place their parent or family member, some of the benefits besides residents having their own rooms and the homelike atmosphere are personalized care and the knowledge that Bell is on site all week and can be reached even on weekends. Both she and her husband Phillip provided our family with peace of mind which was priceless during such a difficult time. Rococo Healthcare is not simply a business to Bell and Phillip but a calling.
